Our customer offers for sale a 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Pagode, an elegant cabriolet powered by a 2,778cc inline-six engine and equipped with a manual transmission. This car underwent a restoration in the past, including a full repaint down to the metal and an engine revision. A new interior was also installed, featuring leather seats and carpeting. Other replacements include body panels, a fuel pump, and a fuel gauge.

The exterior showcases minor scratches on two locations, but overall, the body and paintwork are well-maintained, presenting a pleasing appearance. The interior, refreshed in 2019, remains in good condition with small signs of usage with operational instruments.

The Mercedes-Benz 280 SL, part of the revered “Pagode” line, is celebrated for its unique styling, combining a luxurious design with practical features like a hardtop that enhances year-round usability. Launched in the 1960s, the Pagode SL series replaced the 190 SL and 300 SL, blending sportiness with comfort and setting new standards in handling and performance. The 280 SL variant, introduced in 1967, is the most powerful of the Pagode models, fitted with a larger engine that delivers a balanced, responsive drive. Designed by Paul Bracq, the model earned its nickname due to its distinctive concave roof design. Today, the 280 SL is highly valued by collectors and enthusiasts for its timeless style and robust engineering.
