The seller offers for sale a 1968 Ford Mustang convertible, fitted with a 4.7-litre V8 engine (289 cubic inch), automatic transmission, and power steering. This particular example was extensively restored in 2020 by specialists and has been in the seller’s possession since 2014. The car has covered 57,000 km since restoration. The car is finished in Raven Black (a correct 1968 colour) with a matching black soft top and interior, making it a desirable triple black configuration. The bodywork is protected by a ceramic coating.
It features a number of mechanical and aesthetic upgrades aimed at comfort and reliability, including front disc brakes with power assistance, an electric convertible top, upgraded suspension components, and fog lamps. A Bluetooth amplifier, USB port, and modern wiring components have also been discreetly integrated to support everyday usability.
The exterior presents as freshly refinished, with straight panels and recent paintwork showing minimal if any wear. Chrome trim, emblems, and lighting units are complete and visually consistent with the car’s age and restoration. The original steel wheels and hubcaps are included along with the installed Magnum Force 500 wheels. It retains Belgian registration and has a valid roadworthiness certificate.
The interior has been restored in keeping with the original layout but features a number of refreshed components. The synthetic upholstery is in good condition, and the carpet, dashboard, and dials have all been replaced or refurbished. Wear is minimal. A full set of floormats, wooden steering wheel, new chrome switchgear, and retrimmed door panels are among the list of renewed parts.
The 1968 Ford Mustang marked a refinement of the original pony car formula, introduced in 1964 to mass-market acclaim. By 1968, the Mustang had gained a reputation as a stylish and accessible performance vehicle, available in multiple trims and with a wide array of engines. The 289 V8 remained a popular mid-range option, offering a satisfying mix of power and reliability. That year also brought minor styling changes such as side marker lights and revised grilles.
This example is notable for its convertible body style and the “C-code” V8, which signified a 2-barrel carburettor 289. While not the most powerful variant available, it offered smooth and tractable power, well-suited to leisurely open-top cruising. The Mustang’s popularity also led to a massive aftermarket, which this car benefits from via tasteful modifications like the improved brakes, upgraded suspension, and various modern comforts. Still, the car retains the original visual identity of the 1968 model year and includes period-accurate badges, interior trim, and lighting details.
It is increasingly difficult to find restored Mustangs in this configuration with documentation and recent restoration. This car comes with a file of receipts and restoration details. A range of original parts is also included, offering future owners the flexibility to return the car to a more original state or further personalise it.
