The 1935 Citroën Traction Avant 7C was a groundbreaking model for its time, featuring front-wheel drive, independent suspension, and a monocoque body—rare innovations in the 1930s. This particular car was restored over an eight-year period, with attention to maintaining originality. It runs on a 1628cc engine and is fitted with rare Michelin 130/140 x 40 radial tyres. It also includes unique features such as a combined oil pressure and temperature gauge, a Prelac lighting system, an original Gemmer steering box, and a brass Chausson grille. These elements add to the vehicle’s period-correct character.
The dark red body with black fenders and wheels gives the car a classic appearance. Notable details include headlamp brackets without adjustment holes, a three-piece spare wheel cover, and bumper mounts with a single bolt instead of two. Other period features include a two-cap fuel tank and a rear license plate with integrated lighting (“Plaque de Police”). Inside, the car retains its original character with twin dashboard compartments, central instrumentation, a custom-made rear-view mirror, and an original pop-out windscreen compass. The upholstery is woven in the traditional French style and complements the car’s exterior. Both the interior and paintwork show minor signs of use.
